Wondering who to main in Tekken 3? This tier list ranks the roster by a mix of damage output, ease of use, and how well each fighter holds up on touch controls — the things that actually matter when you’re playing the Tekken 3 APK on a phone. For full backstories and styles, see our complete character guide.
A quick caveat: Tekken 3 is over 25 years old and was never balanced for ranked play the way modern entries are, so think of this as a practical “who’s strong and fun to use” ranking rather than a hard competitive law. Skill beats tier placement almost every time here.

S tier — strongest all-rounders
Jin Kazama is the best pick for almost everyone. His Mishima-Kazama style is well-rounded, his moves are easy to land, and he punishes mistakes hard. If you don’t know who to play, play Jin.
Paul Phoenix hits harder than anyone in the game. His Phoenix Smasher can take huge chunks of health in a single blow, making him terrifying for aggressive players who like to end rounds quickly.
Hwoarang brings relentless Taekwondo kick pressure and stance switching. In the right hands he never lets the opponent breathe — a top pick once you learn his flow.
A tier — strong with a little practice
Heihachi Mishima is essentially a more demanding Jin: excellent tools, slightly harder execution. King has the deepest throw and chain-grab game in the roster, devastating up close. Nina Williams mixes fast strikes with punishing grapples. Eddy Gordo earns his spot for being effective and extremely easy to use — his Capoeira kicks win a lot of casual matches with minimal effort.
B tier — solid, style-dependent
Lei Wulong is deep and rewarding but demands you learn five animal stances. Ling Xiaoyu is evasive and tricky but lower damage. Yoshimitsu is unpredictable and fun but inconsistent. Bryan Fury has strong looping strikes, and Forest Law offers flashy Bruce Lee–style combos. All viable; all reward investment.
C tier — workable but outclassed
Julia Chang, Anna Williams, Kuma/Panda, and Gun Jack all have win conditions but tend to be slower, more situational, or simply outperformed by the tiers above. Great if you love the character — just expect to work harder.
Niche and fun picks
Mokujin randomly copies another fighter’s entire moveset each match, so it’s a wildcard. Tiger is a reskinned Eddy. Gon and Dr. Bosconovitch are quirky console-exclusive unlocks with one-of-a-kind movesets — more novelty than power. You’ll need to unlock them first.
Best characters for beginners
If you’re new, start with Jin, Eddy, or Paul. All three let you win while you learn Tekken 3’s four-button (limb-mapped) controls, which feel different on a touchscreen than on a pad.
